• 1. It is experimentally verified that the reduction of cupric copper by the carbon monoxide absorbed in the copper solution is a reaction of the second order.<BR>2. In the calculation of the velocity constant for the reduction, it is found that the correction made for the carbon monoxide escaping unreacted, under the assumption that the escaping velocity of the carbon monoxide is proportional to its concentration in the solution at that time, is appropriate.
