The infrared absorption spectra of potassium bis(oxamido)niccolate(II) and potassium bis-(oxamido)cuprate(II) were recorded in the wave number region from 700 to 4000 cm-1 and compared with those of pure oxamide. These spectra revealed that metal-nitrogen bonds are formed in these complexes. The observed frequencies were interpreted in terms of a planar structure having the symmetry D2h.
