A procedure has been developed for the spectrophotometric determination of small amounts of uranium with sodium 2″,6″-dichloro-4′-hydroxy-3,3′-dimethylfuchsone-5,5′-dicarboxylate. Beer's law is obeyed up to about 9 γ of uranium per milliliter. The accuracy and precision are satisfactory. Interference of foreign ions is eliminated by using an anion exchange resin.
