About 19 female patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, plasma luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone were determined following intravenous rapid injection of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone 100 microgram. <BR>In 9 patients, response of plasma luteinizing hormone was poor comparing with that of control. And the time reaching to the peak of response of plasma luteinizing hormone delayed in 11 patients from that in the controls. <BR>No correlation was observed between glucocorticoids, which were administered for therapy, and the level and delay of maximal response of luteinizing hormone.
