• Time responses of output luminescence of an image amplifier were measured as to stepwise and square wave X-ray input. Also measured were the time response of input screen and output screen, the elements of an image amplifier.<BR>The temporal modulation transfer function of the image amplifier and the relation between the background luminescence of the image amplifier and the frequency of square wave X-ray input were studied.<BR>About the stepwise X-ray input, it was found that the more intense X-ray inputs give the hater time responses of the image amplifier and that the output luminescence of an image amplifier in steady state is proportional to the input intensity.
