The number of circulating eosinophils changes very sensitively as a vital respose against various stressor stimuli. The average number of eosinophils counted in one hundred and three Wistar-strain albino rats was 192.0±129.2/cmm<SUP>3</SUP> and it increased daily after hypophysectomy. At the time of anaphylactic shock challenged by repeated horse serum administration, the number of eosinophils decreased remarkably in normal and hypophysectomized rats. The numbers of eosinophilsof rats changed by administration of various medicaments as follows.<BR>In intact rats the eosinophils decreased by administration of Adrenalin, Atropin, Ergotoxin, Acetylcholin, Histamin in small dose, Antihistamin in small dose, Colorpromazine and Cortisone; but increased Histamin in large dose and Antihistamin in large dose. In hypophysectomised rats the cosinophils decreased by administration of Ergotoxin, Acetylcholin and Cortisone; increased Histamin in large dose and Antihistamin in large dose; no changed Adrenalin, Atropin and Chlorpromazine.
