Postmortem coronary angiography was performed in 132 autopsy cases from May in 1970 to June in 1973, and coronary sclerosis was discussed pathomorphologically. Calcified deposits in the coronary artery were observed in 53 cases out of them. Calified deposition was seen in 22 cases out of 31 myocardial infarction cases.
1. In 53 % out of the cases above mentioned, calcified deposits were identified in the three main coronary branches.
2. Calcified deposits were also identified in 73 % out of 22 cases of myocardial infarction in the three main coronary branches.
3. In all cases of myocardial infarction accompanying calcified deposition in the coronary artery, the left anterior descending coronary artery revealed also calcified deposits.
4. On the anastomosis between left and right coronary artery, there were 88% of coronary anastomosis from right to left, and 52% from left to right.
5. Complete occulusion of coronary artery was observed in 8% of cases of myocardial infarction cases. There were stenosis of coronary artery over 75% degree in all cases of myocardial infaction.
