Serum Ceruloplasmin (C.P, ) was determined simultaneously with Hemoglobin concentration Red Blood Cell count, Hematocrit value and White Blood Cell count, in patients with gynecological disorders before and after laparotomy, artificial abortion, with those of various gynecological diseases.<BR>1) The C. P, levels in the healthy non-pregnant women was 9.8+1.0 mg/dl, 12.6+1.6g/dl of Hemoglobin concentration, R.B.C, count 416±19.6×104, Hematocrit value 39±2.2 % and W. B. C, count 6100±2010.<BR>2) Elevated C. P. before laparotomy was obtained in patients with such malignant tumors as chorionic tumor and Sarcoma uteri. In the case of benign tumors, high C. P. was observed upon the combination with pregnant only. In other diseases, C. P. value did not change much from those of healthy non-pregnant women. Blood findings revealed to be anemic in the cases of ectopic pregnancy and pregnancy complicated with tumors.<BR>3) Except one or two diseases, C. P, was observed in higher level on the first day after laparotomy compared with those of before laparotomy, and more elevation was noticed on the third day, indicating a significant difference from the pre-operation value. The seventh day after surgery C. P. value reached the highest level in the most diseases, except the Cancer of Cervix and Sarcoma uteri, and decreased on the twelfth day. However, in the case of the cancer of cervix and Sarcoma uteri with highly operatives destruction, C. P. value was found even higher on the twelfth day. Blood findings following laparotomy were as follows: On the first day after the surgery, Hemoglobin concentration, R. B. C. count, Hematocrit value and W. B. C. count increased in all of the diseases studied. However, in the case of ectopic pregnancy, W. B. C. count decreased. Thereafter, no remarkable changes were observed in blood findings, and was either the same or slightly higher than the pre-operation value. But, in the case of the Cancer of cervix, Hemoglobin concentration and R. B. C. count started to decrease on the third day of surgery, and obviously declining below the pre-operation level on the twelfth day.<BR>4) In the cases with artificial abortion, C. P. value showed lower definitely after the operation. There was no remarkable difference in blood findings before and after the abortion.<BR>5) As for functional uterine bleeding in cases of curettement involved no changes before and after the operation, either in the C. P. value or inblood findings were observed. Administration of Gestagen caused decline in the C. P. value, without hematological change, while Estrogen nises with decreased blood count.<BR>6) C. P. value and blood findings in cases of Vaginitis, trichomonas Vaginitis, (Metro) endometritis, Adnexitis, Catarrh of Cervix, and Climacteric disorder, was measured to be normal.<BR>7) In those cases of Cancer of Cervix in which the operation was unable, the higher C. P. value was obtained than those with operable cases, and than those followed by irradiation after thesurgery. The former cases were found to be anemic compared with latter two groups.
