Relation between the configuration of the action potential and membrane potential was studied. Measuring the membrane potential by intracellular electrod, the environmental conditions was changed. The mean of the normal membrane potential was -55 mV, and the maximum -65 mV, minimum -45 mV.<BR>Nernst's theoretical formula was favered for the relation between the logarithm of KCI concentration and membrane potential in the range of relative high concentration of it. KCl increased environment, caused to lower the membrane potential and decreased the slow component of the action potential. Substitution of NaCI in Krebs solution by isotonic sucrose or choline caused to diminish the slow potential, but had little effects on the membrane potential. In CaC12 decreased Krebs solution, the repitative spike potentials vanished, but the value of membrane potential was not so much altered. The membrane was depolarized by acetylcholine and the action potential was intensified.<BR>We could recognized no decisive relation between change of the membrane potential and the configuration of the action potential.
