Stated in the following are the conclusions drawn from the in vitro and in vivo experi-ments as well as from the clinical findings:
1. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic or penicillin exerts a synergic antibacterial effect on staphylococcus, coli group bacilli, pneumococcus etc.
2. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic exerts an antibacterial effect on the broad spectrum antibiotic resistant staphylococcus and dysentery bacilli, and is evidently effective for the treatment of dysentery caused by the resistant strain.
3. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic is inhibitory against the acquisition of resistance to those drugs by staphylococcus, and coli group bacilli.
4. Combination of Kanamycin with a broad spectrum antibiotic is effective in preventing the development of Microbisme séléction et substitute which is caused by the appearance of resistant staphylococcus while under the treatment with a broad spectrum antibiotic alone.
5. Combination of Kanamycin with penicillin (Kanacillin) is effective in the treatment of various infectious diseases mixed with the infection of resistant staphylocussus which is frequently observed on children, and in near future, this combination may replace Mysillin which is presently in use for the same purpose.
