The authors investigated the cardiac action of piperonal and benzaldehyde and the influences of taurin on it.<BR>Approximately similar tendencies have been demonstrated by piperonal and benzaldehyde to that demonstrated by vanillin and salicylaldehyde. Though the cardiac action of the former two seemed to be affected by taurin occasionally, the effect is not remarkable. Further, no promoting action of taurin on the cardiac movement of extirpated frog heart in any cases within the dilution range with Ringer's solution employed in the present works.
