The author investigated as to how amino-sulfonic acid, its derivatives and other chemi-cal substances affects the activity of copper compounds.
The results of the present investigation indicated that thiourea and methyl-thiouracil acts inhibitory toward the activity of copper sulfate on the intestine. The inhibitory activity of the chemicals was revealed to be due to a chemical antidotal mechanism. Urea demonstrated no activity whatsoever on the activity of copper sulfate, while biuret affected inhibitory. As for Sympacter, an oxy-ephedrin, remarkable inhibitory activity was observed.
In they case of amino-sulfonic acid, its methyl-and benzoyl-derivatives, no influences toward the activity of copper sulfate on the intestine.
The average period of time to kill mice with copper sulfate is shortened by ephedrin, thin-urea, methl-thio-uracil, glycocoll and others, while it is prolonged by biuret to such an extent that 4 out of 8 mice survived. Amino-oxy-propane-sulfonic acid also inclines to prolong the average period of time to kill mice
