In 50 patients with an allergic rhinitis, the Chinese herb “Shoh-shei-ryuh-toh” was effective in 84 per cent. The efficacy of this compound was evident in 2-4 weeks, and in patients on the drug for 3-6 months, the nasal symptoms decreased considerably or disappeared altogether. The only side-effect was a slight abdominal swelling (subjective) in one patient.
