We report an 11-year-old boy who had an unilateral conductive hearing loss caused by osteoma in the middle ear. A white mass which was observed through the ear drum and palpated by micro-instrument had bony hardness. Computed tomography and MRI of the temporal bone revealed an abnormal shadow in the middle ear and mastoid cavity. The patient underwent tympanoplasty. During the surgery, we found that a bony mass pressed the tympanic membrane and restricted the mobility of the ossicular chain. The histopathological diagnosis of the bony mass was an osteoma.
