Three autopsy cases of malignant histiocytosis in the nose (so-called progressive nasal necrosis) are reported. Case 1: a 25-year-old female died about 5 years after the onset of the disease. Case 2: a 28-year-old female died about 6 months after the onset. Case 3: a 36-year-old male died about 1 year and 4 months after the onset. This disease is characterized by the following three features.1) The time the lesion localizes in the nose is various and cannot be predicted.2) Whether the duration of disease is long or short, in the terminal stage spiking fever and liver dysfunction are observed, and the patient dies of respiratory failure in 1-2 weeks.3) Intestinal metastasis and ulceration often occur, and intestinal perforation may be a fatal complication.
