• In order to save time and effort, an automatic speech audiometer was developed using a microcomputer as a controller.With this speech audiometer, speech detection threshold test and speech discrimination test were given to 12 ears with normal hearing and 5 ears with impaired hearing. This system was compaired on the same ears with the method using a recorded tape and a audiometer.Saving effort in speech audiometry was established by this computerized automatic speech audiometer without losing time. Though the time for the tests was not shortened, it allowed the examiner to have some free time during the tests.
