• The lccal use of prednisolone (Shioncgi) was tried in cases of chronic otitis media, aftertreatment of radical operation of middle ear and after tympanoplasty which discharge failed to stop. Once a day affected ear was filled with 0.1-0.3cc. of the agent. In a large number of cases of chronic otitis media the discharge beccame dry or decreased.In after-treatment of operative cases the use of the agent appeared to have caused either decrease or disappearance of unwanted granulation tissues. No unwanted side-effected were discovered by such a usage.
