The ready increase of three B6 enzymes related to sulfur-containing amino acid metabolism, serine dehydratase, homoserine dehydratase and cystine desulfhydrase, in response to a high protein diet in rat liver was demonstrated. Such increases are inhibited by a B6-deficient diet.
