Xylocaine Viscous was used as a surface anesthetic before performing gastrocamera technique in 500 cases. Xylocaine Viscous was found to be more satisfactiry, in general when swallowed by the patients tested than when the aquous solution of the agent was gurgled, or sgrayed over the throat of patients, judging from the pictures of the gastric mucosa.
