The spinal irritation is not a initial symptom of spondylitis tuberculosa nor its latent form Though it has been considered for long that the lack of vitamine B1 is one of the possible causes of this disease, the result of the Sawada's test for beriberi upon patients with spinal irritation failed to coincide with this theory. This disease occurs mostly in a man with higher proportional sitting height and hypersensitivity. From the results of the operation findings, the Thorn's test, transplantation of hypophysis and others, it can be reasonably assumed that the spasm of muscles attached to the spinal presumably due to the physical and constitutional disposition is the essential causative factor of this disease.A standing fact that the much more Japanese people suffer from this disease than the Europian can be attributed to the racial characteristics and physical features.
