At our hospital, we have recently diagnosed and treated a patient with a combination of ailments: Hüftlendenstrecksteife (HLS), benign osteoblastoma, and scoliosis. The patient, a ten-year-old girl, had been suffering from lower back pain as well as pain in her left thigh since February of 1985. She was directed to this hospital and approached us on April 24th, 1985. The results of tendon reflex measurements were low. The following information was recorded: muscle weakness (-); sensory disturbance (-); SLR rt. 60°(+), SLR lt. 40°(+) and HLS was found. Radiographic images of the spine showed that scoliosis only was present. We performed a myelography but still found no other abnormalities. Computer Tomography (CT) of the spine, however, revealed valuable information. It showed a lowdensity area in the left lamina of L4. We performed an operation on this area. Her discomfort and pain have diminished as a result of the operation.
