We have recently experienced a case of benign chondroblastoma which was located in the proximal epiphysis of the femur. The case was a ten-year-old girl, who was treated with curettage of the tumor and cancellous bone graft. Ten months postoperatively, there was no sign of recurrence.On plain X-P, calcification in the radiopague tumor of the epiphysis was observed.Microscopically, the tumor cell was elliptical and its cytoplasma is eosinophilic. Around the chondromatrix are the characteristic polynuclear giant cell arrangements.
