In the previous study we reported the effcets of substances that may regulate bone growth using the HEBP-induced-rickets. Our Previous studies indicate the calcification-promoting effect of calcitonin (CT) and triiodothyronin (T3) indivisually.In this study, we examined the interaction between CT and T3 on calcificathion in the growth plate of HEBP induced-rickets rats. The first 7 days administration of T3 and the last 7 days administration of CT promoted calcification in the growth plate strongly compared with administration of T3 or CT alone. And the areas of calcification promoted by CT and T3 were different. We think that CT and T3 Promote calcification in the growth plate cooperatively and that the both mechanisms of calcification are different.
