Elastofibroma is a rare benign softtissue tumor characterized by the presence of elastic fibers among a stroma of collagenous and fatty connective tissue. This lesion occurs predominantly in the subscapular region. This paper presents a case of a 45-year-old male and a brief review of the literature. He was admitted to the Yoshida General Hospital because of bilateral tumors in the subscapular region which were only palpable at the inferior angle of the scapula when his arms were abducted. The tumors were elastic hard, semimobile, nontender and 10×8cm (right subscapular region), 3×2cm (left subscapular region) in size. The left-sided tumor coused no symptoms, while the right-sided tumor generated discomfort at extreme abduction of the patenlf right arm. Incision biopsy was performed on the right subscapular hinov, followed by local excision.
