Malignant soft tissue tumors arising in the foot often infiltrate tarsal bones through thin soft tissue coverage. Limb-saving surgery is then often difficult and B-K amputation is usually needed. However, it is very useful if possible, to save the weight bearing part of the foot.Nine malignant soft tissue tumors of the feet are presented. Two feet were saved by marginal resection and intraoperative irradiation, and one foot was saved by wide resection. Three posterior parts of the foot were saved by Lisfranc's amputation in two cases, and Chopart's amputation in one case. Two cases were complicated by skin necrosis following radiotherapy. Equinovarus deformities were not observed either in Lisfranc's or Chopart's amputations with ankle arthrodesis using a fibula rod. All cases that had foot preserving surgery were able to walk without a brace.
