• We reviewed the results of 10 cases (7 male, 3 female) with comminuted fractures of the distal end of the tibia. Patients ages ranged from 32 to 66 years with an average of 52.2 years.Four cases had extraarticular fractures and 6 had intraarticular fractures. According to Rifedi's classification, 1 case was type I, 1 case was type II and 4 cases were type III. 1 case was treated with conservative management, 3 cases received only fibular osteosynthesis and 6 cases received tibial ostyeosynthesis.Results were good in 2 cases, fair in 3 cases, poor in 5 cases according to Gregory's assessment.
