Discussed several ways to save the Yellow River from her desiccation. Without healing her inherent problem there are no trails to access the great western China development project that was launched by Mr. Jiang Ze Min in June 1999. More developments need more water. More water demands in the upper areas, that is, the western China, shall result in shorter water in the lower provinces, if no measures are taken. This paper proposes four ways to ease the desiccating Yellow River and one assisting technology, that is, an integrated real time river flow watching network. They are: 1. To convert surface waters of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to underground water and to draw it into the Yellow River. 2. To promote the great western waterway project, that is, introducing part of the Yaluzangbo water into the Yellow River by crossing the Hengduan Mountains. 3. To divide the Yellow River water into halves at the Qingtong Reservoir and one half allowed to be mainly used by Ningsia Hui, Inner Mongolian Autonomous Regions and Shensi Province and the balance to be pored to the bend near Laotongguan for use by the lower provinces through by tunnels under the Liupan Mountains and Yellow Plateau. 4. Enforced greening all possible areas along the Yellow River and her tributaries. Finally, by developing a sophisticated technology to qualitatively and quantitatively detect river flow an integrated real time river flow-watching network must be installed for an optimum water control. A new corporation, public or private, must be established for the purposes mentioned above.
