Object of research
Measuring rolls are connected to servo valves by an electric circuit for controlling the thickness of several slivers by a single servo motor.
A study has been made as to, how the cylinder displacement of the servo-motor corresponds to each input signal to make such control possible. Another important object of this paper is to obtain data which needed for synthesizing a sampled data on the control system for cotton slivers.
Resulis
The circuit consists of three differential transformers, three amplifiers, a three-way non-contact switch, three micro-switches, DC-24v electric source, one main amplifier, a servo valve of Moogtype, and an operating cylinder. With low frequencies and long sampling intervals, pulse train shaped output signals corresponding to the sampling period in frequency were obtained and the quality of the pulse trains was found to be close to what had been expected.
On nigher sampling frequensies, however, output signals were excessively attenuated. Sufficient data were obtained for further development of the sampling control system for slivers.
