The paper explains simple construction methods which give us fibre number staple diagram, standard deviation, and mean length of raw stock from half a tuft diagram in Muller or Wilkiuson tuft method.<BR>x, x', z : Frequency or number of length <I>l</I> of the fibres in a tuft, half a tuft, and raw stock.<BR>X, X', Z : Cumulative frequency or abscissa in each fibre number diagram.<BR><I>l</I>d, <I>l</I>s, <I>l</I> : Mean length in each diagram.<BR>σ : Standard deviation in raw stock diagram.<BR>L : Arbitrary length of raw stock then we get the relations as follows.<BR>Z=Lx', <I>l</I>=(-X'd<I>l</I>/dX')<I>l</I>-0, σ2=<I>l</I>(2<I>l</I>s-<I>l</I>)<BR>Using the above relations, we can get easily a material's fibre number diagram, <I>l</I>, and σ by simple constructions shown in Fig 4 and 5.<BR>The apparatus and results of the experiments are shown in Fig. 6, 7.
