• The obsolete apporatus for the measurement of the moisture content in fibrous materials by ultrared rays takes a long time for a measurement, but the time required for a measurement by this simple method is only a few minutes. By this method the reading of the moisture content does not depend upon the time for measurement ; it remains the same even if the time varies from 1 second to 2 minutes.<BR>The relations between the thickness of the sample and the drying coefficient is found. Many difficult problems concerning measurement by resistant-type or high frequency-type continuous moisture meter will be solved using this method.
