The author designed duralumin cylinders for spinning frames several years ago because of the deficieney of materials. Recently the results of their service tests at A jino Mill of the Shikishima Spinning Company are sent to the author. The following is their main features : <BR>During the s x y ar service no torubles have been found, nor the periodical repair as is seen for the usual cylinder has been required. Slight deformations of the cylinder at the center of each block and loose rivets at the gear end are found. Some hand repairs will guarantee the further use of the duralumin cylinder.The savings in power consumption should be added too.
