This paper is intended to study on the wear of the oilless bearings (sintered copper alloy, grown cast iron, Bakelite) under the static and repeated load. Results are as follows :
(1) Wear for repeated load is greater than that for static load.
(2) Wear resistance is the largest in grown cast-iron oilless bearing, followed by balelite bearing, and the smallest in sintered copper bearing.
(3) After the large initial wear, wear of the bearing surface lubricated in the state of boundary lubrication increases with constant rate.
(4) Bakelite bearing has a good wear resistance for static load, but for repeated load deformation becomes a more important factor than wear.
(5) Mechanism of wear of bakelite bearing is not similar as that of metal oilless bearing. Bakelite bearing is abraded mechanically as if it were cut with tool.
