• A. Simple device to measure both the spinning and winding tension at the game time on a ballooning model was designed to have the following results : <BR>1) The yarn take-up speed had no influence on spinning tension, but exerted a little effect on winding tension.<BR>2) The ratio of winding tension to spinning tension decreased with the increase in ballooning speed, but increased as the yarn count became larger. Traveller weight had no influence on the ratio.
