The concept of ie comprises the persistence beyond the generations, the inheritance of the direct descents and the maintenance of the family businesses and properties, to structure a stem family household. Nevertheless, it is still uncertain when this concept ie was established universally from the commons side. Regarding the persistence as an essential element, this paper focuses on deploying a historical demographic (HD) approach to examine the persistence of a household in a real situation. The experimental results revealed that there was no persistence in a household until the nineteenth century. Moreover, the hypothesis was also found that the persistence norm is dilution before ie universally was established. These findings press us to reconsider both the conventional family sociology perspective which argues that ie existed from the beginning of the seventeenth century, and the legal history perspective which premises that it established in the late modern period. Finally a new framework is proposed to examine the family development in the continuity of times.
