The new compression test method for fibrous mass described in part 1 of this work results in a characteristic relation between the apparent thickness (t) of the specimen and compression force which is balanced by the sum of forces W and F. The relation is given by<BR> t = l+l·λ/F loge (l+F / W+ω)<BR> where l and ω are the substantial thickness and the latent pressure of the specimen, and λ is the modulus of degree of packing. This expression is based on the result mentioned in part 1 and the fundamental law explained in the previous work "Discussing van Wyk's Theory Concerning Compression of a Fibrous Mass " (J. Text. Mach. Soc. Japan, English edition, Vol. 5, No. 1, p. 25, 1959).
