• Three series of tests were made on 20s and 40s count yarns with combinations of wire tooth angles of metallic card clothing different from those referred to in part, 2. More slivers were delivered from metallic cards, Impurities in slivers and the yarn were fewer with metallic cards. The metallic card sliver was more irregular. Although the irregularity index was improved by the processes after the card, the metallic card gave slightly more irreular yarn. It is concluded from the results of part 2 and the present part that a larger tooth angle on the cylinder and smaller angle on the doffer are to be recommended.
