It is usual to let the blow nozzle travel and it is necessary for design of Blo-Cleaner to make clear the characteristics of travelling blow the nozzle.<BR> The characteristics have been experimentally studied by blowing sand grain scattered on the plane.<BR> The relation between the blow-off width and the u<SUB>0</SUB> / √ V<SUB>υ</SUB> log<SUB>e</SUB>(1+ √Vυ / u0) is linear and is given by the following experimental equation : b / b<SUB>0</SUB>=41.5 u<SUB>0</SUB> / √V<SUB>υ</SUB> log<SUB>e</SUB>(1+ √Vυ / u0)-40.3, <BR> where b is the blow-off width when the blow nozzle is travelling ; b<SUB>0</SUB> the blow-off width when the blow nozzle is stopped ; u<SUB>0</SUB>, the mean blow velocity at outlets ; V, the critical velocity for moving the sand grain on the plane ; and υ, the travelling velocity of the nozzle.
