And the public is dependent of election information from mass media. This study presented results of a content analysis of photographs of Ohta Fusae, Ajisaka Makoto, and Hiraoka Tatsuto appearing in three major national newspapers in Japan during the last two months of the 2000 gubernatorial election in Osaka. The study found evidence that we saw much differences in photographs between local and central version of the newspapers, and between genders on the turningpoints of the election.
