The fine structure formation mechanism of dialysis membrane was studied.<BR>It was showed that as the moisture regain of wet formed membrane decreased, using it as a hydrophilic parameter, the ultrafiltration of the membrane increased.<BR>Thus we interpreted comparing with the wet-spinning of man made fibers that the porosity of membrane had relation to the coagulation rate which was more rapid in the case of hydrophobic polymer solution than hydrophilic polymer solution on wet process.<BR>From above consideration, the melt spun cellulose diacetate hollow fibers weretreated with swelling agents such as formamide or acetic acid aq.solutions, then washed with water, dipped with glycerin aq. solution and finally dried.<BR>The ultrafiltration properties of the treated hollow fibers remarkably increased comparing with the regenerated cellulose diacetate hollow fibers and fine structures of the fibres were discussed.
