• In 1901 Wildiers reported the discovery of a growth stimulating factor for Yeast. He termed it "Bios". Since that time the question of growth factors has been one of the most interesting and widely discussed subjects of biological research. In recent years Prof. Kögl discovered "Auxin, Heteroauxin, Biotin, " as a growth factor for plants. In bacteriological research, many workers, Hughes, Knight, Fildes, Mueller, Tatum, Sahyun M, Hosoya, Kuroya, Kuwasima and collaborators, isolated the growth factors from various materials. But the nature of these factors has not yet been ascertained.
