A new method to know the severity of tuberculosis infection was deviced being based on the finding that tuberculous serum is more easily coagulated by sublimate solution than normal serum. Namely, when adding a certain amount of sublimate solution in a concentration of M/1, 000 to a sample serum diluted 4 times with distilled water, the sertun will become turbid or form precipitate. When the amount of sublimate solution added is taken as abscissa and the turbidity (Leitz photometer) of the sample sarum as ordinate, a sublimate coagulation curve will be obtained. For simplicity, the amount of sublimate solution required to produce the turbidity reading of 30 by the photometer (30% reading) was used to represent the nature of the curve. Following are the results obtained thereof:
