HEALING of miliary tubercles with chemotherapeutic preparations is achieved by collagenization centralized on argylophilic fibres. In the use of INAH, following the swelling of argylophilic fibres, the sedimentation and filling of a collagenous substance in the periphery and among the swollen fibres are observe 1, It is considered, therefore, that the entity of hyalinization by INAH is a kind of collagenization mechanism. On the patients treated only with INAH, numerous miliary tubercles on various stages of collagenization were observed. The findings of complete hyalinization reaching the center of tubercles, however, were quite few and they presented a reticular and coarse appearance as a whole. The cases in which the sedimentation of collagenous substance among swollen argylophilic fibres was scarce, that is to say, hyalinization was poor, presented much coarser appearance with stronger cellular infiltration. It was a characteristic finding that neutrophils and large mononucleares were comparatively numerous as infiltrated cells. On the patients treated with the combination of INAH and SM, hyalinization was observed as far as the central part of the miliary tubercles and as infiltrated cells, numerous lymphocytes were observed and neutrophils were scarce. Difference in the hyalinization between the combined treatment and single treatment may be due to the use or non use of SM.<BR>In view of the above mentioned findings, it is thougt that the better hyalinization which followed the combined treatment was the influence of SM, and morphologic healing picture of INAH was inferior to that of SM. In animal experiment (guinea pig), the caseation was scarce and generally the formation of the foci was mild. By both human and animal experiment, we confirmed the therapeutic effect of INAH.
