• Analytical results are presented for two plasma stability integrals _??_d1 and _??_dl/B for the linear quadrupole, . hexapole, and octopole magnetic field configurations. In case of symmetric distribution of current filaments, they can be expressed in terms of the complete elliptic integral. of the first kind.<BR>The stability limit lines defined by (∂/∂ψ) _??_dl=0 and (∂/∂ψ) _??_dl/B= 0 (ψ : flux function) are determined together with themagnetic mirror ratios on those flux lines.<BR>Non-symmetric linear hexapole configurations are also discussed briefly.
