A 75-year-old malewith a primordial cyst containing Rushton's hyaline bodies is reported. Radiography revealed an oval, radiolucent mass in the alveolar part of 1'12 region. Small radiopaque substances were present in part of this bone radiolucent figure. Cystectomy was performed under a clinical diagnosis of calcifying odontogenic eyst. Histopathological findingsrevealed that the cystic wall consisted of three to eight squamous epithelial layers and connective tissue. Hyalin bodies were found in the thick layer of the epithelium and on its surface. Granular material was often seen in the central portion of some hyaline bodies, and most of them showed calcification. The histopathological diagnosis was a primodial cyst containing hyalin bodies. Dental cuticles of the inpacted tooth were compared with hyaline bodies by histochemical staining. The inner zone of dental cuticles showed stainability similar to hyaline bodies.
