Recently, highspeed cargo ships, especially container ships have a tendency to install much larger sized and higher powered main diesel engines than that of conventional high speed cargo ships.<BR>In such type of engines for container ships, it is required to keep the unbalanced forces and moments due to the moving parts of engines smaller.<BR>To cope with such requirements, we have recently developed the perfectly balanced uneven carnk arrangements for 9 and 10 cylinders engine.<BR>Among of these, uneven crank arrangement for 10 cylinders had been applied to the main engine being installed in a container ship (15, 400DWT) built by our yard on 1968, and we have obtained successful results on this ship. In this paper, we introduce our calculation method of uneven crank arrangement which is applicable to 9 or more cylinders engine and also we present here the cal culation results of uneven crank arrangement relating to 9 and 10 cylinders large type engine.<BR>Further we referred the case of practical use of uneven crank arrangement of above stated 10 cylinders engine.
