Four years have passed since the Nippon maru, 2570 tons four-masted bark, was built in 1984 to replace former Nippon maru as a Sail trainning ship for the students of Institute for Sea Trainning, Ministry of Transport, Japan.<BR>In this report, the author, the first chief engineer of the Nippon maru, described as follows.<BR>1) Her operation results from 16th Sept. 1984 to 31st Mar. 1988<BR>2) Principal reasons why twin-screw arrangement was adopted for her.
