概要

• "B.A.E. ORION" is an oceanographic research ship planned by the Equadorian Government for the marine survey and development of the Equadorian sea area.<BR>Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. received the order, and the vessel was designed and built by Ishikawajima Ship & Chemical Plant Co., Ltd. in the Ishikawajima group and the ship was delivered to the Equadorian Government in October, 1981.<BR>Immediately after the delivery, the ship sailed on the maiden voyage across the Pacific, and safely arrived at the destination. "B.A.E. ORION" is now performing her duty in the domestic sea area. Introduced below is the outline of the electric propulsion of Thyristor Leonard system applied to this ship.
