The cytochrorne oxidase was precipitated by acid, acetone or alcohol from crude extract, which was prepared by the method previoufsly reported. It was found that cytochrome oxidase was precipitated in combination with other proteins by this way, but its activity was decreased to less than crude extract and that the oxidase activity of this precipitate was destroyed by drying, though it was done in a vacuum desiccator in an ice chest.
