The state of Ascaris eggs kept in the environment, of growing microorganisms was observed. 10 strains of moulds and 8 strains of bacteria were used for this purpose. Results of experiments were as follows: (1) In the experiments carried out by the method of agar streak, the growth of Ascaris eggs was not inhibited by the development of microörganisms. (2) When Ascaris eggs and spores of microörganisms were inoculated simultaneously to the culture medium and incubated at 28_??_30° for 10 days, the growth of Ascaris eggs stopped completely. By aeration under the same condition, however, no inhibition was observed. (3) When Ascaris eggs were inoculated in the culture filtrate of microorganisms through Seitz filter, normal growth was observed. (4) Ascaris eggs incubated with microorganism for 20 days were isolated, washed and kept in sterilized Ringer's solution. The growth was restored from inhibited state. From above mentioned reasons, it was concluded that the inhibition of the growth of Ascaris eggs, which were incubated with microörganisms, might be caused by lack of oxygen in the growth-environment, and not by metabolites of those microörganisms.
