So far the author has performed endoscopic pancreatocholangiography 994 times and studied the pancreatograms of pancreatic carcinomas in this paper. The endoscopic pancreatogram was succeeded in 54 out of 63 patients with pancreatic carcinoma which were confirmed by operation or autopsy. The pancreatograms of pancreatic carcinoma were classified into 4 types, the obstructed type (61%), the stenosed type (31%), the mixed type (6%), and the normal type (2%).The shape of obstructed portion in the main pancreatic duct was nib-like in 17%, irregular surfaced in 58%, spoon-like in 22% and flat in 3%, and the shape of stenosed portion was irregular surfaced in 80% and not so in 20%.It was emphasized that the differential diagnosis between pancreatic carcinoma and other pancreatic diseases was not so easy in some patients by the pancreatograms alone.
